The IT Confessionalist
Back during my schooling days, IT was a hot topic, almost a sure-to-come-out question in essays. Examiners love to ask us students write about the benefits of IT, its downsides and possible futures with IT. When I was young, I always thought of IT being a far-fetched, huge thing.
Today, I am 22 and I realised that IT is what we are all living with all this while. IT stands for information technology. Anything that transmit information is a form of IT. The internet is one very good example. The world wide web connects us to a wealth of information no layman could ever imagine a good twenty years back.
Indeed, the IT world is now among one of the most sought careers. We have all heard of successful stories of normal people who indulged in the IT scene. Some did by accident, others persevered and turned themselves into multi-millionaires in a short period of time. A career in the IT world definitely is life-changing. It is even better than the typical rags to riches tales. The silicon valley stories are no strangers to us, we have read numerous of them in magazines and newspapers. Sometimes, I do wonder if I would be one of them as well.
Back to reality, things are never as easy as what we imagine them to be. One would need some proper training before venturing into the IT field. Cisco certification is a good option to consider. The Cisco Learning Network is a portal where IT enthusiasts can gather to enhance one’s IT career. There are articles and news you can update yourselves on the latest in the IT scene.
I believe the IT field is not one without challenges. There are bound to be obstacles to be overcome. However, overcoming these hardships would prove one thing – toughness.
